TOOLED LEATHER TOBAKO-IRE / OJIME/ KISERUZUTSU Meiji Period - European Religious Subject
An Embossed, Gilt Lacquered, Polychromed Leather Tobacco Pouch (Tobako-ire) - Ojime - Pipecase (Kizeruzutsu) -Meiji Period - European Religious Subject - the tobacco pouch nicely tooled and decorated with two religious images, the cover with a face, wearing a collar modeled as angels' wings, another winged image on the front of the pouch continuing over to the reverse, both amid scrolls and foliage. The interior is covered in a silk 'bekko' (tortoise-shell) pattern fastened with a concealed ivory-colored clasp with a key-fret pattern. There's a second small pocket in the inside of the Cover. The kiseruzutsu (pipe case) has a hand chiseled textured design on the exterior of an unknown material to resemble rattan; the ojime is a turquoise-colored glass. Condition: The leather shows some age wear and is dry, which would be commensurate with age and use, and the interior silk is worn and deteriorating somewhat in the crease where the pouch closes. The pipecase has a tiny hole at the bottom.

RARE JAPANESE CHIRIMEN GAMI-E WOODBLOCK TOY PRINT (OMACHA-E) Meiji Period - Yoshitora Utagawa
Rare Chirimen-Gami-e Woodblock Print Omacha-e (Toy Print) - Meiji Period - Yoshitora Utagawa - Seven Heroes and Two Heroines that are battling various mythical creatures, the first, Miyamoto Musashi killing the 'Nue', with its poisonous spikes. Others unidentified. Chirimen is creping the paper, after printing the image and inscriptions in the usual manner, by a lever press (Momidai) to produce a novel effect. Signed: Yoshitora all sheets. Condition: Excellent with very light soil as would be commensurate with age; excellent bleedthrough.

OLD JAPANESE ARITA/ARITA-STYLE BLUE AND WHITE INBAN DISH
Beautiful Old Japanese Arita/Arita-Style Inban (Stencil Transfer) Blue and White Porcelain Dish - The barbed central medallion decorated with a pheasant and floral motif, surrounded by floral panels and intricate geometric designs, the brown rim, slightly barbed ; the reverse with a single concentric circle, signature to the base. The signature is very similar to Rokubei, an early 19th c. potter, but is of a later date. Condition: Excellent.
