Large Antique Japanese SHIME-KAZARI (Sacred Straw Festoon) Hanging Scroll with a Large Crawfish - Meiji Period - Hand-painted on paper about 120 years ago with a large Crawfish and the Shinto Sacred straw festoon (Shime-kazari); with lacquered wood jikusaki (roller ends). Condition: Good as would be commensurate with age, some wrinkles present. It displays beautifully.

Antique Japanese Golden Bekko (Tortoiseshell or artificial) Red and Gold Lacquered Kushi (Comb) and Kanzashi (Hairpin) Set, the kushi lacquered in red and bright gold and inlaid in aogai (blue-green inside of the abalone shell) on one side with a large kiku blossom (chrysanthemum) and a wheel, the design carrying over to the reverse, the kanzashi, with 'ear cleaner' scooped end, and similarly decorated. Condition: Excellent.

Original 19th c. Japanese Woodblock Oban Print - Utagawa Yoshitsuya - 1850's - Chushingura Act V - Scene at nightfall in the mountains, on the hill-road between Kyoto and the village of Yamazaki during a heavy rainstorm- depicting the meeting of Kampei, dressed in a raincoat and out hunting and Senzaki Yagoro, seen with a paper lantern in his mouth; a long narrow winding path with Yoichibei followed by Sadakuro. Condition : Good, excellent color and bleedthrough, margins, not backed, slight wrinkling and light soil as would be commensurate with age. It's a great 47 Ronin Print.
