IMPORTANT PAIR OF JAPANESE MOULDED BRASS VASES WITH FRENCH ORMOLU MOUNTS

Impressive Pair of Japanese Moulded Brass Baluster Vases with French Ormolu/Bronze Mounts, c. 1880-1900 - Each vase molded in high relief with Dragons amidst vaporous clouds, Birds and Foliage around the body, with pierced crowns, mounted at the shoulders and neck with foliate bronze (ormolu) mounts forming the handles, raised on bronze feet, with brass liners. The animals nicely detailed. They bear the Dai-Nippon Seal on the bottom with crossed Hi-no-maru flags over the city name- Kyoto. Inside the right cartouche it says Hanbai, followed by the family name - Yoshida. The left cartouche is Chuko I. Condition: Very Good as would be commensurate with age and use; a slight bend in one of the handles, minor signs of age. Wonderful patina, an exceptional pair!

From the Play: Date Kurabe Okuni. All shown in a tent, as a letter is being burned. Signed Toyokuni ga all sheets. Condition: Excellent color and bleedthrough; 3 panels not attached, few holes, minor thinning in a couple of spots,slight creasing at edges, some soil, all that would be commensurate with age. It will frame beautifully !!

Pair of Antique Japanese Bronze Buddhist Altar Pricket Candle-sticks, of slender shape, with flaring foot, outset at the waist and each decorated with a gilt tsuru (Crane), rich warm patina. Nice and heavy. Condition: Very good as would be commensurate with age and use; some light scratches present, and each with an old sticker to the bottom.

JAPANESE MUSHA-E (WARRIOR) HANGING SCROLL
5 Samurai - Signed
Old Japanese Musha-e Hanging Scroll - Samurai Commander and Four Samurai- Signed (Unread). The Commander shown seated on his Camp Stool in full battle armor, surrounded by four other Samurai, all in full battle armor with weapons. It's tastefully hand-drawn in ink and soft colors on paper and mounted in a blue-green floral-patterned silk, with bone jikusaki (roller ends). It is signed with two red seals (unread). Condition: Very good as would be commensurate with age and use; some wrinkles and light staining; some small holes present at the top of the mounting. It's a great scroll that displays beautifully.

Tsutsugaki (Resist Dyed) Mitsudomoe (Three Comma)
A Large Old Japanese Indigo Cotton Tsutsugaki (resist dyed) Tansu Cover - Boldly emblazoned on both sides with a large Mitsudomoe (three comma) crest on a dark blue ground. It was made to fit a tansu measuring 14 1/2" x 36" x 41". It could also serve as a wonderful wall hanging, or as an impressive backdrop for armor or swords; an exceptional piece. It can be folded and hung over a railing, and it displays beautifully. RARE to find. Condition is very good as would be commensurate with age and use; some light soil present, and a small opening (about 3") in a seam close to the corner, which may or may not be on purpose.
