Oban Tate-e Chushingura Diptych- Kunisada/Toyokuni lll , signed KochoroToyokuni ga in red Toshidama cartouche (both sheets); Publisher: Yamamoto-Hei-kichi; (both sheets); Date: 1860 (7); (both sheets) - Act XI, 47 Ronin Beni-gara (Snow scene), Moronao being dragged forth from his hiding place by his captors, Yuranosuke comes up to identify his enemy and shows him the dirk with which Yenya committed suicide and invites him to do do likewise, which he delines forcing Yuranosuke to kill him; retainers pursued by Ronin across the snow-covered roofs in the background. 2nd Episode - Snow scene at Sengakuji Temple, the Ronin each offering incense before the resting place of their Lord. Condition: Good impression and colors, wrinkle in left panel; minor soil as would be commensurate with age. Frame by Seikai-Do, Tokyo.
